Why not spend a long weekend on the beautiful island of Mallorca and experience two of the world’s most breathtaking live acts, as Andrea Bocelli and Elton John take the stage at Mallorca’s football Stadium on 4th September 2010.
A once in a lifetime experience and the perfect addition to any summer holiday, this is the first time these two world class stars will be performing on stage in Mallorca. The renowned artists will perform in a five hour set, accompanied by 72 musicians from The Balearic Symphony Orchestra, and 42 singers from The University Choir of the Balearic Islands.
Sir Elton John is widely regarded as one of the most successful artists of all time, releasing 30 albums and selling over 250,000 million records to date. His electric sell-out concerts have become renowned for their fantastic support acts and special guests. The Italian born Andrea Bocelli enjoys similar success to Sir Elton, having achieved 70 million record sales worldwide, just 18 years into his classical music career.
The global fame and recognition of these two stars will put Mallorca’s football stadium (also known as ONO) and the entire island on the world music map. With a capacity of just 34,000, tickets to the concert are disappearing fast with a huge demand from both foreign and local Mallorcan music fans.
With the beautiful weather, crystal-clear waters and 76 beaches which line the Mallorcan coastline, this concert provides the perfect excuse to spend a little more time exploring the largest of Spain’s Balearic Islands. Visitors can take pleasure in visiting some of the islands magnificent architecture, most evident is Palma’s stunning La Seu Cathedral which boasts Gaudi’s legendary influence or Palau de l’Almudaina, a 14th century palace that acted as a former residence for Spanish Royals. Alternatively tourists can take to the quaint streets which wind their way down into the heart of traditional fishing villages such as Sa Nau or Cala Llombards where local restaurants serve delicious fresh fish and fine chilled white wine before finishing off the day soaking up the sun on one of the islands many beaches.
The serene and magical island, bursting with striking landscapes and sun dappled Mediterranean waters, has a unique charm that has captivated visitors for centuries. Catering for families, couples, sun, beach, food and now music lovers, Mallorca is a must-visit, and with frequent daily flights from all the UK’s main airports, has never been more accessible.
