Tony Butala is a founding member and lead vocalist of the American vocal group The Lettermen. Known for their romantic style and tight harmonies, the trio signed with Capitol Records in 1961 and achieved major success throughout the 1960s on the adult contemporary charts. In 1971, The Lettermen recorded the song "The Greatest Discovery," written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin. The track was released as a 7-inch single by Capitol Records with the catalog number P-3097, featuring Tony Butala as the lead voice on the recording.
