Elton John ganhará uma cinebiografia

Elton John quer que Robert Downey Jr. o interprete em sua cinebiografia, segundo o site Gigwise.
"Eu estou bem velho agora, então seriam necessários dois ou três atores e eles teriam que variar em idade e peso. Robert Downey Jr. poderia talvez me interpretar em uma determinada fase", disse o cantor.

Ao contrário de outros músicos que marcaram geração, como Ray Charles e Edith Piaf, o filme que conta a história de Elton John será feita em moldes fantasiosos.
"Obviamente não será um filme normal, tradicional, porque minha vida foi meio maluca. E eu acho que é importante fazer um retrato meio surrealista dela", explicou.
O roteiro do filme está nas mãos de Lee Hall, que também criou a peça Billy Elliot. A cinebiografia ainda não tem diretor.
A lembrar que Elton John é uma das atrações do Rock in Rio 2011, que acontece em setembro, na Cidade do Rock. No mesmo dia do cantor, se apresentarão Rihanna, Claudia Leitte e Katy Perry.

NOVA YORK (Reuters) - O cantor britânico Elton John deu um conselho a seu amigo de longa data e parceiro de turnês Billy Joel, que passou boa parte de sua vida profissional combatendo o alcoolismo: procure tratamento melhor.
Elton John, que, aos 63 anos, tornou-se pai recentemente com seu parceiro David Furnish, refletiu sobre a paternidade e sobre seus 40 anos de carreira em entrevista à revista "Rolling Stone" que chegará às bancas esta semana, falando também sobre turnês com "Piano Man" Joel que foram canceladas.
"Ele vai me odiar por dizer isso, mas toda vez que ele foi a clínicas de reabilitação foram tratamentos leves", disse John à revista. "Quando eu fui para a reabilitação, tinha que limpar o chão. Ele vai para clínicas onde tem TV. Eu te amo, Billy, e estou falando o que você precisa ouvir."
John, que no passado procurou tratamento para livrar-se de sua própria dependência de álcool e drogas, disse que Billy Joel poderia estar contribuindo mais para o mundo da música.
"Em última análise, ele apenas vai levando", disse o cantor à revista. Eu sempre digo 'Billy, não dá para você compor outra canção?'. Ou é medo ou é preguiça. Isso me deixa triste. Billy é um enigma. Já tivemos tantas turnês canceladas em função de doenças e outras coisas, alcoolismo."
Billy Joel, 61 anos, já passou vários períodos, incluindo em 2002 e 2005, internado em centros de reabilitação para recuperar-se do abuso de drogas e álcool.

A lista de cinco mil convidados para o casamento mais aguardado do ano, do Príncipe William com Kate Middleton, não vai conter nomes célebres como Sir Paul McCartney e Helen Mirren.
Segundo o “The Sun”,  William e Kate sofreram para montar uma lista de duas mil pessoas que eles querem ver no casamento, que acontece dia 29 de abril. Entre eles, pouquíssimas celebrifades, como David Beckham e Elton John. Os outros três mil convidados serão políticos e líderes internacionais.

Just days after the birth of his son Zachary, John speaks about the joys of fatherhood, his enduring relationship with lyricist Bernie Taupin, how he's mentored Eminem through difficult times – and his true feelings about his longtime friend and tourmate Billy Joel.

"At the end of the day, he's coasting," John tells Scaggs."I always say, 'Billy, can't you write another song?' It's either fear or laziness. It upsets me. Billy's a conundrum. We've had so many cancelled tours because of illnesses and various other things, alcoholism."

He goes on to criticize Joel's past attempts to stop drinking. "He's going to hate me for this, but every time he goes to rehab they've been light," John says. "When I went to rehab, I had to clean the floors. He goes to rehab where they have TVs. I love you, Billy, and this is tough love. Billy, you have your demons and you're not going to get rid of them at rehab light. You've got to be serious. People adore you, they love you and respect you. You should be able to do something better than what you're doing now."

While the recordings and performances under the name of Elton John are the main entry points of our interest, let’s not forget Bernie Taupin’s outstanding, official website at http://www.BernieJTaupin.com. (Please note:  This is Mr. Taupin’s only official website.)
Flying a bit under the radar with his typical low-key presence, Bernie again is the Brown Dirt Cowboy to Elton’s Captain Fantastic.  And that’s part of what contributes to the site being such a great view.
Clearly, you will have interest in his bio, gallery and most of all his lyrics.  But what hooked me the most was his blog.  Not only fresh and astute, the blog underscores how Bernie is a different person from Elton, living a different lifestyle.  Really fresh vantages that would grab my interest even there wasn’t some guy named Reg Dwight aka Elton John.
I’d say “Give Bernie his own TV Talk show,” but really, it’s his very low-key profile that keeps him real.
Now there’s no place to write Bernie directly at his site, but after reading his blog, it was the first time in something like 15 years that I had a hankering to send fan mail.  Maybe I will track him down via U.S. Postal Service.

If you were a fan of the Lady Gaga/Elton John pairing at last year’s GRAMMYs and are eagerly anticipating their duet on the Elton John/Bernie Taupin penned “Hello Hello” from the upcoming animated film Gnomeo and Juliet, you’ll have to head to the theaters to listen to it.  According to Billboard.com, reps for Buena Vista records have confirmed that the song will be performed only as a solo by Elton John on the film’s soundtrack CD.
