HE has done more for the florist industry than most stars, now Sir Elton John has been rewarded with a floral tribute.
The Rocket Man singer, who has spent a fortune on flowers in the past, has had an orchid named after him.
And yesterday he took partner David Furnish and baby Zachary to see the Doritaenopsis Sir Elton John at the 20th World Orchid Conference in Singapore.
The tiny tot, who will celebrate his first birthday on Christmas Day, was dressed up for the occasion in a smart white suit.
While he was cosy enough in David's arms, he didn't seem interested in Elton's speech.
Maybe the language was a bit flowery for the cute little lad.
David also dressed for the occasion in a smart suit but Sir Elton went a little more casual, in a sporty tracksuit.
And he was presented with a beautiful white and purple plant on arrival.
In a 2000 court case against former manager John Reid it was revealed that the flamboyant star splashed out £293,000 on flowers in less than two years.
And in a spending spree which lasted from January 1996 and September 1997 he blew a massive £30million – or £1.5million a month on blooms.
At the time, he defended his splurge by saying: "I have no one to leave the money to. I'm a single man. I like spending my money."

Sir Elton John now joins the list of over 100 celebrities and heads-of-state who have received the Singapore welcome - an orchid named specially after him.
The 'Doritaenopsis Elton John' is a hybrid orchid with a striking magenta pattern and a golden forked lip, over large white petals, to reflect the singer's flamboyant personality.
He told the crowd on Friday morning at the World Orchid Conference: 'This is such an honour because I'm an avid lover of gardens - I have beautiful gardens in my home in England and France.'
He added that his partner, David Furnish - who was also present at the ceremony along with their baby son, Zachary - was planning to install a greenhouse in their England home.

Elton John orchid, as colourful as the man himself

Singapore: It has a striking magenta pattern, and large white petals with a golden forked lip, and it's named Doritaenopsis Sir Elton John.
The orchid was named after the singer-songwriter, who in his early years was just as colourful as he gave the world hit after hit, from Crocodile Rock to Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and Philadelphia Freedom.
In Singapore for a one-night-only concert on Sunday, the 64-year-old put in a stop to the 20th World Orchid Conference, to have the phalaenopsis hybrid orchid named after him.
Sir Elton who didn't outshine the orchid by appearing in a comfortable, dark-coloured track suit, did deliver megawatt smiles that challenged the dazzling flash bulbs of the waiting media.
"We've had orchids in our home all the time, so it'll be great to grow our own, so we're going to do that" said Sir Elton at the occasion which was also attended by his partner David Furnish with their son Zachary.
The self-confessed avid garden lover called it a great honour to have the orchid named after him.
"I have had a lupine named after me and even a rose but never an orchid and this is a great honour as I am an avid lover of gardens" said Sir Elton.
"Thank you for your kindness for this as it is an eloquent list of people I seem to have joined and this is indeed the most beautiful specimen of orchid."
Sir Elton's close personal friend, the late Princess Diana has had an orchid named after her in the National Parks tradition along with Queen Elizabeth and other visiting VIP dignitaries such as Nelson Mandela, Kofi Annan, US First Lady Laura Bush and celebrities like Jackie Chan.
The orchid-naming ceremony at the Sands Expo and Convention Center, saw Dr. Kiat W. Tan, Chairman of 20th WOC Organising Committee, removing the sign with the plant's parentage before Sir Elton John replaced it with one bearing his name.
To mark the special occasion, Marina Bay Sands which is presenting the Elton John concert, created a special all-orchid arrangement modelled after the iconic three towers and topped off with the picturesque Sands SkyPark.
The 80cm tall model was built over 24 hours by the Marina Bay Sands in-house floral team.
