We haven't seen such a garish customization of classic vintage metal since Von Dutch painted white curlicues all over a root-beer coloured 300SL gullwing.

This 1964 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud III once belonged to Sir Elton John (we're betting it was during his Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds period). Aside from the -ahem- custom paint, this Roller also boasts a fully modified drivetrain - so cast aside any lingering doubts about the reliability of ancient Lucas electronics. Under that long snout is a 454 Chevy big block mated to a GM slushbox, the brakes have been swapped for modern GM stoppers and the air actually works.

Listed on Ebay Motors this week, the auction was ended early when the bidding barely topped $10,000.
No word on what the reserve price was, but it's not the first time this one-of-a-kind Roller has been on the block – it was offered up a few years ago by a Greenville TN. couple for $100,000.

We think this car is just the ticket for the discerning buyer wishing to stand out at the next concours...

Lefthand drive , beautiful custom paintjob ( reminds me of John Lennon's custom Rolls that was painted about the same colors ) and best of all , a reliable , troublefree , easy to maintain US drivetrain ! Big block Chevrolet 454 cu. , auto trans , GM rear end and brakes , A.C. , the works ! I have some documentation pertaining Elton John's ownership also. This great car runs and drives great , is superfast as well , and will give the new owner lots of pleasure and " teasingpower " at the next Rolls Royce ownersclub meeting !
