Meet Elton John's Smallest Fan

Fairport, N.Y. -- On Saturday night, thousands of fans will pack the War Memorial at the Blue Cross Arena to see Elton John perform. Some may claim to be his biggest fan. One Wayne County boy just might be his smallest.

Four-year-old Evan LeRoy says Elton John is his favorite singer simply because, "he sings different songs I like."

Those songs include "Crocodile Rock," "Goodbye Yellowbrick Road," and even "The Bitch is Back."

For Evan, Saturday night's all right. Not for fighting, but because he'll get to see his idol live in concert.

His parents say when they started listening to Elton John, their son quickly caught on. Evan sings and dances along and does so in his
own Elton John outfit complete with oversized glasses.

His dad, Jon, said, "He likes to ham it up. Normally he's just out there. He puts on a show for whoever wants to watch him."

So how excited is he to see Elton John on Saturday?

"Really excited," he said.

"I think he'll be dancing in the aisles," Evan's mom, Trisha, said.

Evan's dad hopes that his son will continue with music as he gets older.

THE NEW GREAT TALENT: Alan Hall

Café Girl (Original)

Café Girl (Original Song by Alan Hall)

In a Café off Main
She served set meals all plain
But her puddings were oh so fancy

As I watched her twist her hair
I went into try
One of her sweet things
Pudding not pie

Where her lips were around a straw
Of a long glass of pop
And she looked so cool
Sitting on a chrome
Red leather swivel stool
A Diana Prince twirl girl
She looked like

Coming to feed my sweet tooth craving
From her menu I did choose
Oh she was
She was my café girl

Chorus

Well you can serve me up with rice pudding and sugar
Fill me up just a little more
Oh serve me up with rice pudding and sugar
Ooh baby gimme some more
Ooh baby gimme some more

When I finished she cleared my table in slow mo
Wiggled about much more than so so
It felt like she was all around me
Oh sweet café girl

Then as she
Flicked through her tips
With a kind of groove
Sitting on the back beat
Oh so smooth
I wanted to tell her but my lips wouldn't move
You are my café girl

Chorus

Well you can serve me up with rice pudding and sugar
Fill me up just a little more
Oh serve me up with rice pudding and sugar
Ooh baby gimme some more
Ooh baby gimme some more
Gimme Gimme
Oh sweet Café girl

Lady Gaga Is Godmother To Elton John's Son

http://www.starpulse.com/news/index.php/2011/04/23/lady_gaga_is_godmother_to_elton_johns_

Elton John is convinced Lady Gaga is the perfect person to serve as godmother to his baby son, because the pop star is a real family girl at heart. The "Rocket Man" hitmaker, who welcomed baby Zachary with partner David Furnish last December, has confirmed reports Gaga was indeed chosen for the honor, and the couple is confident the outrageous star will do a great job.
During an interview with news show 20/20, which will air in its entirety on Friday, John says, "Yes, (Gaga is the godmother). When you get to the real person underneath, there's a very simple New York girl who loves her parents. I love her to death and a lot of people said, 'Oh that's crazy.' But they don't know her, and we do."

Beckham, Elton, Mr. Bean to attend royal wedding

Beckham, Elton, Mr. Bean to attend royal wedding

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/04/23/ap/world/main20056722.shtml

AP)  LONDON (AP) — David Beckham, Elton John and Mr. Bean actor Rowan Atkinson will mingle with dozens of royal guests at Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding, according to an official guest list released Saturday that includes one uncomfortable presence — the Bahraini crown prince accused of a brutal crackdown on protesters.

St. James's Palace also released the seating plan at Westminster Abbey, which showed that relatives of William's mother Princess Diana are sitting across the aisle from the royal family, joining the Middletons in an exception to the traditional division of a church into a bride's side and groom's side.

There was no explanation of the seating arrangement, but the Spencers have not had a good relationship with the royal family, especially after Diana's brother Charles Spencer attacked the royals during a speech at her 1997 funeral.

More than 46 foreign royals are seated behind the British royals. They include Bahrain's Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, an invitation that could prove awkward in light of his government's rough treatment of mainly Shiite pro-democracy protesters.

Some human rights campaigners have started to petition Foreign Secretary William Hague to revoke the invitation, saying the prince should not be allowed to attend the occasion. At least 30 people have died in Bahrain since mid-February, including four who died while in official custody, and many well-known activists and lawyers have been imprisoned.

Other foreign royals who are attending include those from Denmark, Norway, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Thailand and Morocco. Only a handful of celebrities are invited, including the Beckhams, director Guy Ritchie, soul singer Joss Stone, and Atkinson — a close friend of William's father Prince Charles.

Although about 1,900 guests have been invited to the couple's wedding ceremony at Westminster Abbey, half of them will sit in the section of the abbey where views of the altar are restricted, and they will have to rely upon video screens to follow the service.

Queen Elizabeth II and other royal family members will sit in the front row across the aisle from Middleton's parents and brother James. They will be closest to the abbey's sanctuary, where William and his bride will stand.

Foreign dignitaries, the Middletons' family friends, British government and defense officials, families of British soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, William's army colleagues, and people who work for William's charities will be seated around the abbey.

Palace officials said that only crowned heads of states are traditionally invited to royal weddings, and that political leaders who are not from the 54-member Commonwealth of nations, such as President Barack Obama or French President Nicolas Sarkozy, weren't sent invitations.

About 600 of the guests will then attend a champagne and canapes reception at Buckingham Palace hosted by the queen.

At this point in his career, no one could really blame Elton John if he decided to take it easy and coast into retirement.

Judging by his sold-out performance at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza Friday night, that’s not going to happen anytime soon.
Instead of just playing his greatest hits, the 64-year-old piano player showcased his latest work with a superb five-song mini-set that proved that not all of his best days are behind him.
Making his fourth appearance at the Wilkes-Barre Township arena, and his first in nearly three years, John electrified the audience from the moment he took the stage to the familiar strains of his epic, 12-minute masterpiece “Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding.” And he never let up for more than two-and-a-half hours.
Early highlights included second song “Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting),” and joyous romps through “Levon” and “Madman Across The Water.”
Backed as always by a superb band consisting of longtime drummer Nigel Olsson, guitarist Davey Johnstone, keyboardist Kim Bullard, bassist Bob Birch and percussionist John Mahon, the 1994 inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame did a masterful job of alternating rockers with ballads and big hits with fan favorites.
“The Union,” his recent duet album with Leon Russell, was well represented with great versions of “Hey Ahab” and “Monkey Suit,” and the touching song about the American Civil War, “Gone To Shiloh.”
After the five new songs, John and his band then played one big hit after another. Some of the highlights included an extended “Rocket Man,” a nice “Sad Songs (Say So Much)” and a crowd-pleasing, sing-along “Crocodile Rock” to end the main set.
Some of the evening’s best moments were on the ballads, especially the three-song showcase of “Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word,” “Candle in the Wind,” and “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me.”
After a brief exit, he came back on stage, signed some autographs for the fans in the front row and capped the evening with a spectacular version of “Your Song.”
John’s next show will be tonight in Rochester, N.Y. The next concert at the Mohegan Sun Arena is Avenged Sevenfold with openers Sevendust and Three Days Grace on April 29.
