Madonna Wants Elton John To Forgive Her

by MUSIC-NEWS.COM on JANUARY 17, 2012
Madonna wants to kiss and make-up with Elton John after beating him to an award at the Golden Globes yesterday.

Madonna has joked that she hopes Elton John will speak to her after she beat him to a Golden Globe award.

The superstar scooped the trophy from the iconic singer in the Best Original Song category with the song Masterpiece from her new movie W.E.

Elton was nominated for his Lady Gaga collaboration Hello Hello from animated film Gnomeo and Juliet.

‘Oh. I hope he speaks to me for the next couple of years. He’s known to get mad at me,’ Madonna told the BBC after the ceremony. ‘I don’t know, he’s brilliant and I adore him. He’ll win another award and I don’t feel bad.’

Before the Golden Globes kicked off in Beverly Hills last night, a confident Elton announced on the red carpet that Madonna stood ‘no f***ing chance’ of winning the accolade.

The 64-year-old was filmed looking stony-faced when Madonna accepted the award.

With W.E. being only her second directing project, the singer-turned-filmmaker seemed stunned herself at receiving a gong.

“This is a surprise,’ she said in her thank-you speech. ‘Thank you very much to the Hollywood Foreign Press for this acknowledgement.’

Will it ever end?!
Ever since Madonna hit the road promoting her film ‘W.E.,’ the press has hounded the Material Girl over her thoughts on Lady Gaga. Now, following Madge’s Golden Globe win for ‘Masterpiece,’ two more divas have gotten involved — Elton John and his husband, David Furnish.
Before Madonna accepted her Golden Globe win, John told a reporter that she had “no f—in’ chance” at the award for Best Original Song — for which John was also nominated for his contribution to ‘Gnomeo and Juliet.’ When she did in fact win, TMZ reports that John was in the audience and “seemed p—ed off in the crowd when Madonna’s name was read.” We’ll attribute John’s beef with Madge to sour grapes. No one likes to lose!
However, John’s husband, David Furnish, was even angrier than John seemed to be. Furnish lashed out at Madonna on his Facebook page, posting, “Madonna. Best song???? F— off!!!” But he didn’t stop there. ”Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit,” Furnish continued. “Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in it’s narcissism. And her critisism [sic] of Gaga shows how desperate she really is.”
John and Furnish’s relationship with Gaga goes back quite a bit. They’re so close that they even named Mother Monster as their son Zachary’s godmother.
So far, Lady Gaga is the only person involved in this mess to not comment. For that reason alone, she may be the smartest of the bunch!

Film producer David Furnish was left fuming after Madonna beat out his partner Elton John to win the Best Original Song trophy at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, insisting her win proved voting isn't based on "merit".
Sir Elton and the ‘Like a Virgin’ hitmaker engaged in a friendly war of words on the red carpet ahead of the ceremony after the Rocket Man singer told reporters his one-time pop pal didn't have "a f**king chance of winning." Madonna hit back by asking journalists if Elton was "wearing a dress".
The Material Girl eventually emerged triumphant as her track ‘Masterpiece’ from W.E. scooped up the award, and she joked about the red carpet feud backstage, stating, "I hope he speaks to me for the next couple of years. He's known to get mad at me. He's brilliant and I adore him, so he will win another award. And I don't feel bad!"
However Madonna's comments merely enraged Furnish, who took to Facebook.com to vent his fury about the singer's win.
He raged, "Madonna. Best song???? F**k off!!! Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit."
He also took offence to her Golden Globes acceptance speech, calling it "embarrassing in it’s (sic) narcissism."
The ‘Your Song’ hitmaker was nominated for ‘Hello Hello’, which was featured in Gnomeo & Juliet.

Elton John’s husband, David Furnish, isn't the biggest Madonna fan, to put it mildly.
Mere seconds after the Material Mom received her Golden Globe award for Best Original Songfor "Masterpiece," the song she wrote for her directorial debut “W.E.,” Furnish whipped out his smartphone and went on a tear on Facebook.
"Madonna. Best song???? F--- off!!!"
Meanwhile, cameras caught John, who was nominated in the same category as Madonna for his song “Hello Hello” from the film “Gnomeo and Juliet,” looking a bit miffed.
Earlier, the Rocket Man told a red carpet reporter that Madonna had “no f----ing chance” of winning the award.
Madonna didn’t seem too put off by the insult. Later, she breezily told the same reporter, "Oh damn him," adding, "May the best man win."
After Madonna took the stage and gave a long-winded acceptance speech, Furnish continued his rant. "Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit,” he wrote on Facebook. “Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in its narcissism. And her criticism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is."
Last week, Madonna gave an interview to Newsweek magazine where she described Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” as “interesting,” dismissing the song as a rip off of her 1989 hit, “Express Yourself.”
But Madonna doesn’t seem to hold any ill will towards Furnish–or his famous hubby. "I hope (John) speaks to me for the next couple of years," Us Magazine reported Madonna as saying backstage at the Golden Globes. "He's been known to get mad at me so I don't know. He's brilliant and I adore him so he'll win another award. I don't feel bad!"
