Billy Elliot the Musical to Now Begin San Francisco Run June 27

The San Francisco engagement of the tour of Billy Elliot the Musical will now play the Orpheum Theatre, June 27-September 17. The run was previously announced to play the venue beginning September 13. Based on the 2000 film of the same name, Billy Elliot tells the tale of a young boy with a dream of being a dancer. The show won 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical; it is written by Elton John (music) and Lee Hall (book and lyrics), with direction by Stephen Daldry and choreography by Peter Darling.
The cast for this engagement will feature Tony Award-winner Faith Prince as Mrs. Wilkinson along with Giuseppe Bausilio, Kylend Hetherington, Lex Ishimoto and Daniel Russell alternating in the role of Billy. Also featured are Rich Hebert (Dad), Patti Perkins (Grandma), Jeff KreadyJoel Blum (George), Griffin Birney and Jacob Zelonky (Michael), and Rachel Mracna (Debbie).
The production features scenic design by Ian MacNeil, costume design by Nicky Gillibrand, lighting design by Rick Fisher and sound design by Paul Arditti. Musical supervision and orchestrations are by Martin Koch.

Adam Lambert Checks Out Elton John Gig

He’s usually the one doing the entertaining, but last night (January 19) Adam Lambert played spectator at the Elton John private benefit concert.
The “For Your Entertainment” singer was all about supporting the event, held to raise awareness about the American Foundation for Equal Rights.
On Tuesday, Mr. Lambert was in the house for the season 3 premiere of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
And in related news, Adam has finally moved into his new house. He tweeted, “Checked out of the Sunset Marquis yesterday to move into my new home!! Had an amaaaazing stay there- great service and restaurant!”

Ricky Martin has given new father Sir Elton John some parenting tips, telling him to grab sleep whenever he can.

The Puerto Rican pop star is openly gay, and is father to two-year-old twin boys Matteo and Valentino, who were born using a surrogate. Elton and his partner David Furnish welcomed their first child, Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John, on Christmas Day.
Ricky says nothing can prepare a person for the love they will feel when they become a parent, although there are some practical things Elton and David will have to take into consideration. “Life changes!” he laughed. “You have to sleep because you are not going to sleep ever again! Babies wake up every two hours. At 7 o'clock you are awake. For me, I was a night owl in the past, but now, I'm up, I'm working, I'm already dealing with the kids.”
Ricky, 39, loves everything about being a father. He tries to spend as much time as possible with his kids, who are very close to each other. They always take each other’s side when Ricky disagrees with one of them, and being the odd one out has left Ricky keen to even things up a bit.
“Fatherhood is incredible! Every day is something different. Matteo and Valentino, two boys, they're constantly ganging up on me but I can take it! They're amazing... I want more. This is only the beginning of our family,” he said during an interview with Y100 Miami radio. “Maybe one, two more. But yeah, definitely. I need daddy's girl.”
